I find some time on my own can be a very beneficial thing, although this wasn't always the case. When I first moved to Durham on my own, I seem to remember I could feel my sanity slipping away. You find yourself doing the oddest things. I remember when I ran out of coal, so spent an afternoon burning my old trainers. If I hadn't been on my own, I wouldn't have dreamed of doing that. Along with the things you mentioned, I also used to find I didn't bother heating the house as much when I was on my own. It'd odd, it's like you consider yourself less important when you're alone.

Now, on the other hand, I enjoy it. Time to eat things I wouldn't do in front of Louise (Asda tinned chilli straight from the can, cold) and watch cartoons in the middle of the night. Spending time on your own can either make you or break you, and I suspect being of relatively sound mind you'll be OK :-)
