I encounter quite a few people who complain that not enough people like them. They say how hard it is to make friends. Well, no need to act the clown - here's how.
I found this on a web site, together with other worthy words:
Six ways that will enable people to like you more:
1. Become genuinely interested in other people.
2. Smile.
3. Remember that a person's name is to that person the sweetest and most important sound in any language.
4. Be a good listener. Encourage others to talk about themselves.
5. Talk in terms of the other person's interests.
6. Make the other person feel important - and do it sincerely.
No more complaints please.
Yes - this is almost the exact structure to the classic 'How to Win Friends and Influence People' book Jason read recently. Of course, it's pointless someone as selfish, stupid, nasty and hateful as you to even bother, because it's also important that you're in some way likeable, or at least a little less repellant than most of us believe you to be. I'd love to be more positive, but what's the point - you'd only be hurt even more by countless others who don't even know you. I'm your friend (so called), and I would never lie to you - and one day you should find it within your cold black heart to thank me. But I don't expect it. Hugs and kisses.

For the last time, Antonia, I /don't/ fancy you and am with Liz now.
It can never happen. Please try and move on.

Slipping a tenner in my direction and then pissing off in another usually impresses me.
But I'm so shallow...

We are not popular so don't have to read such literature as like Ian says they would rather slip us money and run. Seen as we have no money, draw your own conclusions and Antonia, I sense a deepness to your voice, sorry I mean opinion.

It was me, and if you want a fight - any of you - you know where to come.

Please forgive Antonia, who deserves our pity far more than she needs our criticism, however correct we are to show her she is wrong. Andy - thanks for this valuable information, which most of us are very grateful for.

Hi Tim, my friends call me moon unit

It's what they take *out* of the water you should be worrying about...
Oh, and Andy - thanks for the tips, I'm sure someone will like me some day. :-P

Don't be silly, Frank, you're easy to like.

I don't like my name
Posted by: christine | November 28, 2005 at 09:49 PM
Can I have it, then?
Posted by: Frank | November 28, 2005 at 10:05 PM
Yes Tim, being the newest here (for now anyway), we are of course, the least affected and consequently aware of our deteriorating state of mind.
