OK, this is how it goes.
I now have to balance my time between being upright, and horizontal - a state of affairs which gives rise to quite a few questions. At the very least, it requires a fair amount of planning.
My bandage is changed every two days, and during this rather uncomfortable proceedure we get to see how much the leg has seeped in the intervening time. (too gory for you?) So, having now had two bandage changes with the super new silicon dressings, we were in a position last night to make a judgement on whether things were better or worse than last time.
As it goes, they were worse - meaning that I had spent too much time upright and not enough lying down in my usual position. However, it wasn't /too/ bad, so maybe I wasn't that far off.
So, the job is to juggle my time effectively, making sure that everything that can be done whilst horizontal really is done that way. This Blog entry, for example, is easy to do on my laptop whilst sat up in bed. No problem.
Repairing computers, playing piano, printing stuff, using the lable maker, working on complex graphics, trips out and all that kind of stuff have to be done OUT of bed. I have no idea why I bothered to state the obvious to that extent.
That's it, then. I have to juggle my time and get the best out of it. Or else.
I will obey.
It's a tough one. Easy to intend to obey I would think, but, once involved in something upright, hard to stop and become horizontal, particularly when one's livlihood is at stake. Hope you see real lessening of seepage soon.
