I'm looking forward to a nice chilled out show on Wednesday.

Lots of great sounds from talented musicians such as:

Bob James, Fiona Apple, Jack Johnson, Angie Stone, Dionne Warwick, Dr. John and many many more....

Oh heck, sounds like a K-Tel record advert from the 80s.

Anyway, loads of smooth sounds, interesting chat (I hope) - and a fantastic “impossible” quiz for you to take part in for the first hour.

Big news - earlier start time on Wednesday - We're shifting to 10pm - 1am

Hey folks - I think I've gone mad.

Tonight, you can look forward to a load of country and folk.

Yes, you heard me.

It's a bit mad, but I've found a load of tracks I love, and I'm hoping you will love them too.

If you're a hardcore Smooth Jazz fan - you really don't need to worry. I wouldn't leave the whole show empty of that sort of stuff.

So, a real mixed bag tonight, but it should be fun.

SKY Radio

I had a chat with those lovely people at SKY, with a view to getting AD-LIB radio onto the satellite platform.

It was quite a sobering exchange for me. We need the following:

1)  An OFFCOM licence for Great Britain
2)  An uplink carrier  (roughly 23 thousand pounds a year)
3)  A SKY EPG number (roughly 20 thousand pounds a year)
4)  A transit carrier for EPG info, normally an ISDN line.  (about a thousand pounds a year)
5)  A transit carrier for the actual radio signal to the uplink site. (not sure on this, but maybe a dual ISDN line at two thousand pounds per year)

Then, we need to establish a 7-day broadcasting schedule with a variety of shows and presenters, a news feed and a weather feed. Admin, tech support, production staff and studio....

On a shoe-string, we could do it for 50 thousand pounds a year, provided no-one wanted to be paid.

Last Wednesday

Thanks to all who listened on Wednesday, it was a great show, despite me being a little under the weather. Lot sof emails, lots of requests, just the way I like it. There were quite a few requests which I could not fill on the night, so they can happen, i hope, next Wednesday.

The requests are great, they show up a lot of new music - some of which is new to me too. I like that a lot. So, please do keep them coming.

Just a quick note to say that I am not going to be around this Sunday to make sure that the Evelyn DeVere show goes out at 4.30pm.

So, instead, I have put the new show on the loop-back reel, and, with any luck, it should be on somewhere around the right time.

It's the best I can do. I hope you enjoy the show.

I have a slight feeling that you need Quicktime 7 to view it, but this might not be the case. I'll check out this posting on a PC and see if it works OK.

Thanks to all for a great show on Wednesday.

It's so good to see a wider range of listeners tuning in - so much so that I have given up trying to guess each listener by their IP address. So, whoever you are, you're very welcome, and I appreciate your support.

It was a great show - with a beautiful and themeless selection of music, which worked even better than i expected.

The one big cock-up of the night was me forgetting to start the recording going until the show was over an hour old.

Ooops.

So, at 2.15am - when I should have been going to bed, I performed the first hour and a quarter all over again. So, when you listen to the loop-back, don't be surprised if it sounds a little different than you remember. It was a weird experience trying to generate that “start of the show” energy when i was so tired and it was so late. Did I succeed?  Well, have a listen and let me know.

Thanks to all who emailed in their requests, and who sent in feedback through the web site. It's all very much appreciated.

Tonight, tonight...

Here we go again, as they say. Well, as I say, anyway.

What's in the show tonight?

Well, a whole heck of a lot, that's what.

We have a new format for the 16 finest, whereby they'll get played in four blocks of two tracks per show, instead of in a half-hour slot. This should aid the flow of the program, and also cover for the worst excesses of my dear guests.

Aside from that, I'm not going to say much.

I will be playing the piano at 1am, live on air, for your entertainment, and I have a truly spectacular line-up of music ready and waiting. It's a mixed bag tonight, full of classic tracks, contemporary gold and, of course, classy smooth jazz.

Do pop in. It'll be nice.  :)
